In 2024, SOFIDIAL, a textile printer specialized in personalized promotional products, faced a poorly performing system despite its relative youth. Creating new client stores required hours of manual data entry , while the outdated interface and technical architecture significantly limited developments.

Our collaboration with the agency Voilà le Topo for design allowed us to create a modern multitenant platform that radically transforms SOFIDIAL's approach: now, each client has their own personalized store with dedicated domain name, while online personalization tools open new commercial development axes.

Context before the project

SOFIDIAL, specialized in textile printing for associations, professionals and institutions, relied on a system developed a few years earlier but which quickly showed its limits.

Creating a new client store represented a tedious process of several hours: each textile reference had to be entered manually, with all the risks of errors and time losses that this implies. The user interface, not very ergonomic, complicated the daily tasks of the teams.

The technical architecture also posed major challenges. The decoupling between a JavaScript front-end and a Laravel back-end made developments complex and expensive. More problematically still, the system offered no online personalization functionality, depriving SOFIDIAL of a strategic development axis in a market where personalization becomes a standard.

This situation hindered the company's growth and limited its ability to offer a modern experience to its end customers.

Project objectives

To regain competitiveness and fully exploit the potential of textile personalization, SOFIDIAL needed a modern platform capable of:

  • Automating store creation to eliminate manual data entry and drastically reduce setup times.
  • Offering a smooth personalization experience allowing end customers to create their products online with text and images.
  • Efficiently managing multitenant with personalized domains for each client store while maintaining centralized administration.
  • Integrating the entire value chain : procurement, payments, billing, commission calculation and accounting entries.
  • Modernizing the user interface to improve team efficiency and facilitate new tool adoption.

The implemented solution

In collaboration with the agency Voilà le Topo for UX/UI design, we developed a completely redesigned platform, built on a modern and efficient Ruby on Rails architecture.

Advanced multitenant architecture

  • Stores with personalized domains : each client has their own store with dedicated URL
  • Centralized administration allowing management of all stores from a single interface
  • Data isolation ensuring security and confidentiality between different clients

Integrated personalization tools

  • Online visual editor for text and image personalization on textiles
  • Real-time preview of creations before validation
  • Asset library shareable between stores or specific to each client

Complete operational management

  • Automatic supplier catalog import with real-time update of product references and characteristics
  • Automatic stock synchronization for precise real-time availability tracking
  • Procurement automation with real-time stock monitoring
  • Integrated payment system with commission management by store
  • Automated billing and accounting entry generation
  • Analytical dashboards for performance tracking by store

Multi-tenant

stores with personalized domains

The migration to the new platform transformed SOFIDIAL's operations. The store creation process, previously tedious, now boils down to a few clicks thanks to product catalog automation and automatic supplier reference import.

Real-time stock synchronization with suppliers eliminates unexpected shortages and improves customer satisfaction. This automation enables proactive procurement management and perfect product availability visibility.

Online personalization features have opened a new growth axis, allowing end customers to directly create their personalized products. This self-service approach reduces commercial workload while improving user experience.

The multitenant architecture enables efficient centralized management while offering each client a personalized showcase with their own domain. Accounting and billing automations free up valuable time for operational teams.

Testimonial

I had the pleasure of collaborating with Nathan Le Ray, Software Engineer at SXN Labs, on the digital transformation project for SOFIDIAL, a textile printer specialized in customized promotional products.

When we started the project, SOFIDIAL’s existing system quickly showed its limitations: manual and lengthy store creation, outdated interface, lack of online customization tools, and a technical architecture making changes costly and complex.

Nathan was an essential pillar in transforming this system. Thanks to his technical expertise and ability to design robust and scalable solutions:

He participated in the design and development of a modern multitenant platform, offering each client their own store with a custom domain.

He implemented online customization tools, allowing end customers to create their products with real-time preview.

He automated complex processes: supplier catalog imports, stock synchronization, procurement, billing and accounting entries, thus providing remarkable operational efficiency.

He contributed to setting up analytical dashboards for precise performance tracking by store.

Results achieved through his work:

90% time savings on store creation

100% of the accounting chain automated

New growth lever through online customization

High-performance and secure multitenant platform

Beyond his technical skills, Nathan stands out for his rigor, creativity, and ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, notably UX/UI design with the Voilà le Topo agency. His involvement transformed a complex project into an operational and strategic success for SOFIDIAL.

If you’re looking for a software engineer capable of solving ambitious technical challenges, creating reliable and scalable solutions, and bringing real value to your projects, Nathan Le Ray is undoubtedly the person you need.

Evolution and roadmap

The SOFIDIAL platform continues to evolve to support the company's growth. Development of the complete printing ERP module is planned in the coming months and will include:

B2B commercial management

  • Commercial quotes : creation and management of quotes by sales teams
  • Online client validation : transformation of quotes into orders directly by the client

Computer-Aided Design (CAD)

  • Client resource library : centralization and organization of assets by client
  • Automated BAT generation with electronic client signature for validation

Production planning

  • Machine scheduling : assignment of orders to specific machines
  • Production optimization : automatic organization of other production tasks

Logistics and shipping

  • Carrier comparator : automatic search for the best price
  • Label printing : automated generation of shipping labels

Conclusion

The SOFIDIAL project perfectly illustrates how a well-conducted modernization can transform a technical hindrance into a competitive advantage. By combining our technical expertise with the design vision of Voilà le Topo, we created a platform that automates repetitive tasks while opening new growth axes.

This multitenant approach with integrated personalization positions SOFIDIAL as a modern player in the textile printing sector, capable of offering turnkey solutions to its clients while optimizing its own operational processes.
